Finding new recipes to try on blogs is one of my favorite things about social media. And although, I have a stack of wonderful cookbooks in my kitchen, the web is the first place I go when I’m trying to find something new and delicious to make.

One of the reasons I started blogging again was to be able to share all of the recipes, good or bad, we try at home. Once I’ve had a meal that I truly love, whether it’s at a restaurant, a friend’s house or in my own kitchen, I want to share it with everybody.

Honestly, I just want to support my community and help them grow. Some of the most amazing recipes I’ve made have come from bloggers. So I’m creating a new series on here called Recipes Around the Web, where I make and share my favorite recipes from across the Internet.

We’ve been eating a lot of kale-based salads this summer, but I wanted to try something different. So, while browsing through photos of different types of kale on Google (thank you SEO), I stumbled upon this amazing recipe for Kale, Quinoa, and Black Bean Salad on Katie’s blog Dishin and Dishes.

What I love about this recipe is that these are all things I already had in my kitchen. It’s healthy, easy to make and super filling. The spices and lemon give it a sweet and savory taste that leaves you wanting more. It’s filling and perfect for a hot summer night.

When I made it, I didn’t change it much. I think I added a little bit more red bell pepper, and a pinch or two of salt. I did leave out the avocado, only because I didn’t have one at home. However, I think it would have been the perfect addition and added a creaminess that my recipe was lacking. I have no doubt that this salad will be frequenting our kitchen much more this summer.
