What happened to September? I sincerely, sincerely have no idea. Woah. ***Poof***, Gone into thin air. I hate using the excuse that I’m busy. I think it’s a copout because everyone is busy. Everyone’s got something going on in his or her lives. September seemed like a blur and I’m honestly not even sure what happened. I wish I were better at balancing things. I wish I could “have it all”. But when push comes to shove, it’s just hard. It’s hard to find time for my family, sleep, work, the blog and all the other things I have going on in my life. So I had to take a break. Not an intentional break, just a break. I needed to throw my energy into my family and get some rest, which is why I was absent her the last twelve or so days.
In other news, I flew home to Idaho last week to spend some quality time with my family and attend one of my college girlfriend’s weddings. It was such a treat. I love the feeling of being “home”. Home, in my childhood home. Sitting in the rooms I remember, seeing people I love. While so much has changed since I’ve left, it’s comforting to find simple and little things that have stayed the same. It was the perfect trip and one I needed.
So now, I am feeling rested and as if I’m getting my groove back. I have lots of fun fall recipes planned for our kitchen and a few fun adventures in the works. The chaos around here isn’t going to stop soon but I’m trying to accept it and embrace it.
Therefore, October, I welcome you with open arms and an open heart. Please bring me crisp fall mornings, an excuse to wear sweaters and boots and lots of pumpkin filled porches and treats.
Oh, and one last thing, did I mention October is my birthday month?! Woohoo! Can't wait to celebrate!
