This Grand Adventure: Chelsa-Bea: Life Lately

Life Lately

I’ve mentioned before that I don’t like making excuses, so I’m going be completely honest. The last two weeks just took me by storm and managing the blog + work + life + volunteer commitments, well, it was just a bit too much. I needed to take a little break. To take a step back and feel energized again.

It’s important to me to be forthright and honest about who and what I am. I’m a woman of many talents but sometimes having it all is not one of them. I try to balance (or whatever that means) as much as I can. But, depending on the week, one of my commitments may receive more of my time than another. I try not to over commit but sometimes, I get ahead of myself and life happens and it all hits me at once.

I put a lot of pride into the work I produce. I strive to make sure it’s always high quality. Creating a great post takes a lot of time. From developing an original recipe, to photography and editing, to post writing, plus social media sharing and more. I’m not trying to complain, just be honest about what’s involved. I commend those food bloggers who post three times, if not more, a week. I would like to say that I could do it but I’m not sure if I can. I’m going to continue to attempt my two posts a week (the goal I set in my 30 before 30 list) and on a great week I’ll post three or more times. But if I’m only posting once a week, just know I needed a little break.

This blog is a major part of my life and is constantly helping me to explore and develop. I want to keep it up to date and thriving. I love this space and this community that’s developed with it. I am incredibly grateful for this blog and what it has brought into my life. And I absolutely, cannot wait to see how it continues to grow.

Thank you for your patience and following along with me on this grand adventure.

  1. Girl I 100% hear you... There are times I just need a break. To come home from work and not dive right into blogging, but to just sit on my couch, watch Friday Night Lights and recoup from the day. Quality all around (in life, in blog, in everything) is what I say.

  2. I was going to start my comment the exact same way Julie did...'Girl, I hear you!!!' Blogging takes a lot of time and energy and its always nice to recoup and regroup and start fresh :) Definitely quality over quantity and your blog is great!!

  3. Sometimes you just need a little break.... it happens to all of us (at least, I assume it does). Blogging will always be there and will wait for when you're ready for it.
